4) To be eligible for an appointment to a permanent Transit Officer position, it is essential that you are an Australian or New Zealand citizen or have permanent residency status within Australia.

5) The Public Transport Authority requires as a condition of employment for Transit Officers that you undergo formal criminal records screening. Will you consent to such screening?
6) Are you comfortable wearing a uniform and portraying a corporate image?
7) Can you work under pressure and be a reliable member of a team?
8) Are you prepared to deal with difficult passengers and conflict situations?
9) Are you prepared to undertake an enforcement role with non-complying passengers?
10) Transit Officers are occasionally required to deal with serious trauma, injuries and/or fatalities. Would you be comfortable handling such situations where you are required to rescue or remove an injured or deceased person, including a child or baby?
11) Are you prepared to work more night shifts than day shifts, and on weekends and public holidays (including Christmas, New Year and Easter) as required?
12) Are you prepared to travel to locations that may be some distance from your home in order to begin and end your shift?
13) Do you enjoy working with people and can you relate to people from different backgrounds and cultures?
14) Do you have the sensitivity to deal with members of the public when they are distressed confused, upset or obstructive?
